Ember Swift back in Beijing, China for 3 months

Ember is back in Beijing for three months as of March, 2008 and will be working on her new album during this time. Stay tuned for more information this summer as the project develops.

Doing her thing in Beijing

She’s a musician-activist with the savvy and energy to have formed her own record label and release a stream of recordings over more than ten years. With her jazz-tinged pop and folk repertoire, Ember Swift thrives in a universe different from that of major labels, contracts, MTV, and airplay rotation. She might be the best example out there of a working, growing DIY artist.

Ember Swift will be in Beijing, China from April-June, 2007

Ember will be in Beijing for three months to study the music of women in the independent music world in urban China. As a graduate of East Asian studies from the University of Toronto, it has been her life-long dream to get to China and immerse in the beauty of the Mandarin language (yes, she speaks Mandarin) and simultaneously surround herself with the music of China. Stay-tuned for a future album project to reflect her research and her experiences.

Lyndell Montgomery to play bass with Aurora Jane in India from April-May, 2007

Lyndell Montgomery will be in India touring with Australia’s Aurora Jane this spring for a six-week period.
